One of the many requests we get is to relocate a satellite dish for a DStv installation - either to another part of the building or complex - or to a new premises. When doing this type of installation, we will reassess your satellite dish, equipment, cables and connectors and will let you know if anything needs upgrading or changing.
All of these symptoms can be related to obstructions in front of the dish such as a tree or scaffold, but could also be due to heavy rainfall. During a rain or electrical storm your signal may be affected, but should rectify by itself once the storm has passed. If you have recently relocated your dish, it could be that your dish is pointing in the wrong direction. Strong winds can also cause your dish to shift and then it needs to be re-aligned to get the best position for the optimal picture on your screen.
If you have checked all of your cable connections and rebooted your receiver and problems still persist, you may need to contact a specialist to inspect your satellite dish and LNB.
It is also wise to check with your service provider, such as DStv or OpenView whether or not technical problems outside of your own setup, are being experienced at the time.
TV+ Video Doctor carries insurance while we are at your premises. Should something occur while we are on site, we are covered.
All our technicians are trained and are up-to-date with the latest in technologies. Our internal management systems see that projects are scheduled and carried out as expediently as possible, and after installations have taken place, spot checks are done. Also, spot inspections are done and follow-up calls are made to ensure every installation has been done correctly and that you, the customer are 100% happy with what we have done. This is a marvellous quality assurance.
